Sightseeing & fun - Let's make a day of it
So much to do so little time to do it in ... with various activities (close to the water or into the bush) to accommodate our visitors, you will feel a need to take full advantage of all that Bergsig Eco Estate and surrounding facilities have to offer. Upon your arrival, you will be given an area information booklet to supply you with more information regarding the available activities in and around Bela Bela.
Activities you can look forward to at the estate
4x4 Routes
Come and test your skills on our 4 x 4 practice course, +/- 1km. Must be arranged in advance, will be guided by someone.
Bird Watching
You don't have to be a confirmed "tweeter" to enjoy our fantastic array of birds with around 115 identified different bird species to be found.
Obstacle Course
Ideal for team building or just plain competition amongst friends. Climb, swing, duck, dive, balance and fall, this is all part of our fun obstacle course at the estate.
Fishing & Angling
There are 2 dams to practice your fly fishing skills (catch & release). Fish available are Black Bass, Curper or Catfish. Bring your own fishing equipment.
Star Gazing & Relaxation
Relax on your deck or verandah with a sundowner enjoying our magnificent sunsets and the impala and waterbuck grazing in your backyard. Stare up at a clear magnificent starry sky during those late evenings and simply enjoy the wonders of the universe.
Swimming Pools
All our swimming pools are cold water pools. Both the Lodge & Group Accommodation offer private swimming pools. Chalet 28 has its own private pool to make use of, while the 3 units of Chalet 21 share, and the Bundu huts have a lovely natural rock pool to splash in.
Dam with Lookout
Relax with family, friends or colleagues at the dam while patiently waiting for animals to take a sip of water. We have a log verandah with thatched shelter to keep you cool while you wait. Our giraffe and red hartebeest are known to enjoy a late afternoon drink.
Entertainment & Games Room
We have a games room next to the conference venue which has a bar area and pool table. There's also an entertainment area at the communal pool where darts and board games can be enjoyed by groups.
Hiking & Walking Trails
Enjoy long or short therapeutic bush walks among the wildlife and bird life, bring a water bottle and a good pair of hiking boots. Trails are ± 1 hour.
Game Viewing & Drives
View our wildlife at the estate in one of our open air game vehicles. Game drives are arranged at reception. NO PRIVATE DRIVES ALLOWED.
Cycling / Mountain Biking
Bring your own bicycle to ride around the estate so you can enjoy and experience the serene bushveld, game and wildlife up close.
Volleyball & More
Volley ball court equipped with a volley ball net and river sand. Junior archery and outside play area with trampoline. Driving range (bring own golf clubs).
