Visitors to the estate get to share the estate with its most esteemed members ... the animals. Ecology surveys and reports have been conducted ensuring animal quality and quantities are correct to accommodate the mixed bushveld environment. The animal's level of tameness has been preserved by controlled game drives and animal management systems. Between the bushes, or sometimes even right at your doorstep, groups of animals can be found grazing peacefully in the surrounding area.

There are over 115 different bird species to be found at Bergsig Eco Estate. A photographer's paradise, if you're patient, you'll get to see Yellow and Red Billed Hornbills, European Bee Eaters, Long Tailed Shrikes, Lilac Breasted Rollers, Crested Francolins, Blue Waxbills, the Southern Black Flycatcher and Southern Pied Babbler and many more.

Floral Kingdom & African Bushveld

Grassy fields and colourful flowers, the bushveld has a much larger variety of flora than one would expect to find. The insect world at Bergsig is a fascinating one with so many unique and interesting species and habits.
